Extira is a revolutionary product for exterior applications. It performs better then wood and MDF because of its unique manufacturing process. Even though Extira Panels can be mistaken for MDF, they do not perform like MDF. Extira was created with different ingredients and a patent and proprietary manufacturing process that leads to superior performance. Made in the same factory and using the same process that was used to create MiraTEC Trim, the TEC process was created to produce a new revolutionary wood composite product. Extira Panels are moisture, rot and termite resistant and are created to handle even the most severe Canadian weather.
Extira Panels are specifically designed and manufactured for exterior use and can be used for any non-structural paint-grade application, including exterior millwork, door and window parts, signage and architectural components. While designed for exterior use, Extira panels also work well in high moisture locations such as bathrooms, medical installations, laboratories, countertop underlayment and casework. The panels are easy to handle and have the ability to be cut, nailed and machined with the use of standard tools. Their unique composition and manufacturing process make it easy for Extira Panels to be sandblasted, routed, carved and laser engraved. When manufactured, Extira Panels leave no voids or resin pockets, which eliminates damage to the board while cutting and damage to shaping equipment.
Extira Panels have a 10-year limited warranty, which exceeds any competitive products.
Panels are sold 1/2″, 5/8″, 3/4″, 1″ and 1-1/4″ thickness with three panel sizes. All panels come unprimed with a smooth surface on both sides.
